Cookie Monster Cupcakes

Hi everyone! Today I am going to show how to make these cute cookie monster cupcakes, which are everywhere at the moment and are really easy anyone can do them.

What you will need
Cupcakes! Recipe for the cupcakes is the same one I used for the chocolate sundae cupcakes and it can be found  here.
12 cupcake butter cream recipe found here
Chocolate chip cookies
Coconut
Blue Food dye
White Chocolate melts
Black fondant of choclate chips
Piping bag 
Circle piping tip.

First make you delicious cupcakes!

Next Make your butter cream and colour it blue.

In a zip lock bag place the coconut. I filled my bag 2/3 of the way up, to cover 6 cupcakes. The place some blue food dye in and mix it around until you coconut is dyed blue. This will act like the fur on cookie monster.

I would suggest making the eyes in advanced as it will save you time. So for the eyes you get your white chocolate melts and your black fondant. You roll a tiny ball of fondant and place it on the white chocolate. Place it close to the edge of the circle.

Next with your blue icing place it in a piping bag with a round tip, I used the Wilton 20 tip. Pipe a mound on the cupcake. You could also just spread the icing on the cup cake, but I think the piping bag gives the icing a nice height.

Then spread the icing around to the edges, but making sure you don't push down the height of the icing.

When piped, place the blue coconut in a bowl and roll the cupcake until the icing is covered. With the palm of your hand gently shape the icing to make it a dome as it might have fallen out of place when you were rolling it in the coconut.

Place your eyes in  the icing and make the eyes look a bit crazy as cookie monster has crazy eyes!

 With a knife, cut a slit a 1/3 of the way through the cupcake. Put the cookie in the slit and push it in making sure you push it into the cupcake as well. I cut my cookie in half as it was way to big for the cupcake and it wouldn't hold. I would suggest putting the cookie in the cupcake forst and then the eyes as i found the eye fell out of play when i pushed the cookie in.

And there you have your cute little cookie monster cupcake!
